Disabled Veterans' Scholarship Fund Dinner

Friday 24th September 2021

Since 2018, The Open University has awarded 160 scholarships to disabled Veterans (those with physical disabilities and mental health conditions), injured in or due to military service, giving them access to free OU study with disability and careers support. The priority is to ensure disabled Veterans are able to take full advantage of educational opportunity, opening up a future bright with potential to thrive in a post-service career.

The mezzo-soprano Laura Wright, Ambassador for the DVSF, has graciously consented to perform during the evening adding her own unique contribution and support. Laura is also an Ambassador for the Military Wives Choirs and a Workshop Leader for the Soldier's Arts Academy; she is passionate that the performing arts can be used effectively to help improve people’s mental health.

Enjoy a fabulous 4-course menu with accompanying wines concluding with a charity auction, featuring some unique prizes not usually available to the general public, including a VIP visit to the world-famous Red Arrows, an escorted tour around an operational RAF fighter base and more that will be revealed on the night. All proceeds from the auction, and a generous donation from Mosimann’s, will go directly towards helping more Veterans find new direction and fulfilment in their lives.
