In 1987, Anton Mosimann came to the Belfry and fell in love with it. He saw it as the perfect place to present his unique style of cooking. A year later it was acquired by Mosimann family interests, Anton Mosimann quickly put his ideas into practice, and brought his experience, knowledge and imagination into play to transform the club.

At the same time, though, Anton Mosimann was determined to keep as many of the original features as possible so as not to destroy the inimitable, atmosphere of the building. The original wooden floor is on view in the main restaurant and the wine cellar too, is on display behind glass, so that diners can choose the bottles themselves.

Anton Mosimann had the inspiration of inviting sponsors to decorate the private rooms. There are now six rooms: The Belfry, Parmigiani Fleurier, Bentley and Veuve Clicquot also the Davidoff from which, guests may watch the chefs at work through a specially designed window and the Mont Blanc Room for two - conceivably the smallest dining room in the world.
